16 oz. beans

1/4 cup canola oil

1/3 c. minced onion

1 T. salt

2 qts. water

Sift beans to find any culls. Put all ingredients in large pot. Bring to rolling boil, then reduce to slow boil. Cook at a slow boil for 3 hours.

NOTE: Add your favorite chili or cheese to spice up your own dish
