NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - One person is dead after a small, non-commercial plane crashed on a runway at Nashville International Airport.

Airport spokeswoman Emily Richard said the plane was a Cessna 172. The runway where the accident happened is closed while emergency workers respond. The other runways remain open, and the accident is not affecting airport operations. She had no details on what happened. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.

Tennessee Emergency Management Agency spokesman Jeremy Heidt confirmed that one person was dead but did not know whether there were any other injuries.
