A large majority of Tennesseans who signed up for insurance under the Affordable Care Act bought policies through Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee.

A report this week showed more than 36,000 Tennesseans bought insurance under the new law. About 86 percent of them, or 31,000 people, enrolled in Blue Cross marketplace plans.

Half of the 31,000 chose Network E plans, a more affordable policy with fewer options for providers.
