Golfers hit the fairways at Egwani Farms in Rockford on Saturday to help a Maryville boy battling cerebral palsy.

Every penny raised during the Kingdom Design Ministries Golf Tournament will go to building a new accessible bathroom for 8-year-old Carson.

Carson's bathroom will be the fifth project Kingdom Design Ministries has completed since it was founded in 2008.

Kingdom Design Ministries makes-over rooms for kids going through traumatic events.

Missy Johnson, of Kingdom Design Ministries, said a fire at their office last year was a major setback for this project."

"We were in the Law Building in Maryville, and we had a fire that devastated our office. We lost everything. So, Carson's room actually we have already planned to have completed, but the fire really set us back several months," said Johnson.

Johnson hopes to finish Carson's bathroom by mid-July, before he starts school in the fall. She said they still need help paying for materials and supplies.
