(WBIR - KNOXVILLE) Three firefighters were sent to the hospital on Saturday afternoon after their firetruck crashed into a pole while heading to the scene of a fire.

K.F.D spokesperson D.J. Corcoran said a ladder truck from the Highland Avenue fire station was attempting to make a left turn onto Middlebrook Pike from Western Avenue, when the tires slid on the wet pavement, causing the truck to crash into a utility pole. It happened around 1:30 p.m Saturday.

Corcoran said all three occupants were sent to UT Medical Center for observation but were released with minor injuries.

Another ladder-truck was sent to the fire because of the crash. No injuries were reported at the scene of the fire.
