Wednesday marks four weeks since a crash on I-40 in Jefferson County left eight people dead.

The wreck involved a church bus from North Carolina, a semi, and an SUV. The church group was returning from a conference in Gatlinburg.

Now, two people who were on board that bus remain in UT Medical Center. Sixteen others were discharged over the past four weeks.

Authorities say a tire on the church bus malfunctioned and sent the bus across the median and into oncoming traffic.

Six members of Front Street Baptist Church, the tractor trailer driver, and a Knoxville man riding in the SUV were killed.
