Reports of black ice and slick roads caused some driving problems for people in Campbell, Morgan, Union, and Claiborne Counties Thursday morning.

911 dispatchers in the counties started getting reports around 6:00 a.m. of black ice on bridges, overpasses, and several roads.

Dispatchers in Union County say the black ice was responsible for a couple of accidents including one on Ailor Gap Road and another one on Hickory Star Road.

According to Meteorologist Mike Witcher those icy spots should melt once the sun is out and starts heating up the roads. That is expected to start happening around 8:00 a.m.
