The Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge began operating Tuesday under new management.

Consolidated Nuclear Security, or CNS, officially assumed management and operation of the plant from Babcock and Wilcox.

CNS said a couple hundred people accepted the company's Voluntary Reduction Plan that allowed employees to be compensated for leaving.

We previously reported the new five-year contract will save more than $3 billion in taxpayer dollars over the next decade.
