(WBIR - Knoxville) In a time when stories of teenagers taking their own lives continue making national news headlines, the Knoxville Police Department is planning to take a very public stance on a growing issue; bullying.
KPD is sponsoring a 'Take a Stand Against Bullying' town hall meeting at South College in Turkey Creek on April 17.
The public town hall is scheduled to feature Kirk Smalley. He is the co-founder of 'Stand for the Silent' - a national group with a mission statement of 'ending bullying' in America. There will also be a panel discussion.

Again, KPD's town hall is free, but tickets are limited. Seating is limited to 175 people.
