Education leaders are out with a list of universities that produce some of Tennessee's best and worst teachers.

Each year the Tennessee Higher Education Commission releases its teacher training report card. When analyzing 2011, 2012 and 2013 data, the report found some higher education programs continue to produce teachers that out-perform other teachers.

The University of Tennessse, Knoxville, is among those top programs. Also on the good list: Lipscomb University, Memphis Teacher Residency, Teach for America Memphis, Teach for America Nashville, and Union University.

There are also schools that consistently produce teachers that under-perform, which include Middle Tennessee State University, South College, Tennessee State University, TNTP-Memphis Teaching Fellows, Trevecca Nazarene University, University of Memphis, and the University of TN, Martin.

The programs included are analyzed using the percentage of results available compared to the percent of positive and negative statistically significant results.
