One of the nation's most famous Christmas trees made a stop in Knoxville on Thursday.

The truck carrying the Capitol Christmas Tree stopped on Neyland Drive for a couple of hours this afternoon on its way to Washington, D.C.

East Tennesseans had the chance to check out the 88-foot Engelmann Spruce, sign the truck, and enjoy some hot chocolate.

The tree was cut in Washington State and it's made stops throughout the country on its way to the nation's capital.

It's set to arrive at the Capitol on Monday. The tree will be decorated and then lit in a special ceremony on Friday, December 6th.
