(WBIR - Downtown Knoxville) Santas, elves and even a grinch or two ran through downtown Knoxville on Saturday to raise money to fight arthritis.

More than 600 festively-dressed runners braved the wet weather for the 23rd annual Knoxville Jingle Bell Run/Walk.

The cause hits close to home for most people. Event organizers said one in four Tennesseans have some form of arthritis, including 6,000 children.

In addition, the event raised awareness about the issue in four-legged friends because one in five dogs has arthritis.
