(WBIR - Knoxville) Thousands of new colleges students are continuing to move in to the dorms on the University of Tennessee campus this weekend.

The 2014 freshman class at UT is one of the school's largest and one of its most accomplished classes ever. About 4,700 students from across the country. The class averaged a 3.8 GPA in high school, and had an average ACT test score of 27.

But to many parents, these students are still their little children. David and Ann Bridge, of Syracuse, New York, are moving in their oldest son, Kevin on Saturday. It's the family's first college experience, and it came with a bunch of different emotions.

"A little nervous, a little excited for him," David said, "We think he'll do fine and we're looking forward to the year ahead."

Kevin is moving in to the North Carrick dorm and will be rooming with someone from Nashville. And while his parents are nervous, Kevin said he is ready to get the college experience started.

"I've been waiting a long time for this," Kevin said.

Classes begin Wednesday, August 20th.
