Parents in West Knox County are getting excited about an idea for a new middle school in their area.

The group "Hardin Valley Supports a Middle School" met Monday evening to further discuss their plan to push for more space for a growing region.

"We're going to run out of room in our middle schools -- specifically Hardin Valley and Karns-- the two that are closest to our area here are already running at capacity," said parent and organizer, Kevin Crateau.

Parent Kim Frazier added, "Karns Middle, Farragut Middle, Cedar Bluff -- They just can't cushion all of the growth and the residents that are coming into Hardin Valley. So it's really important; we see our kids in larger classrooms and it is affecting their learning environment."

The group recently launched their campaign on Facebook and Twitter.
