The search for a missing Middle Tennessee woman with connections to East Tennessee is ongoing, but investigators Thursday also had some grim news to deliver.
Nashville resident Nichole Burgess grew up in Cumberland County. The 37-year-old went missing from her home in the middle of May. Detectives from Nashville came to East Tennessee Thursday to look for any clues that may lead them to Burgess.

They visited the home of her 10-year-old son's father in Anderson County to execute a search warrant and look for a DNA sample.
The Metropolitan Police Department is now classifying the homeowner, Caleb Cannon, as a person of interest in the case.
His name was referenced in the last text message Burgess sent before she went missing.
Investigators are still trying to do everything they can to find Burgess alive, but recently one detective told an Anderson County judge the likelihood of doing so is low.
