(WBIR) - Around 40 homes were been evacuated due to a bomb threat in Blount county Saturday night.

Marian O'Briant from the Blount County Sheriff's Department says a call to 911 came in around 5:30 Saturday night, threatening Viper Customs on 5820 US Highway 411 S.

Surrounding homes on Old Niles Ferry Road were evacuated around 6 p.m. as a precaution. Residents were allowed back inside their homes around 9:30 p.m.

According to O'Briant, the Knox County Bomb squad responded to the incident. They did not find any explosive devices on the property.

At 7 p.m. Saturday, sheriffs had closed Highway 411 in both directions and were investigating the scene. By 9 p.m., the highway had reopened and by 9:30, the scene was cleared.

Due to Highway 411 being closed, there were reports of traffic being significantly backed up in that area Saturday evening.
