A Blount County family has a new place to call home thanks to dozens of volunteers.
The Gibbs family moved into their new Maryville home Friday afternoon. Habitat for Humanity handed over the keys after a long construction project involving dozens of volunteers.
It's a new four bedroom, two bathroom house for the family of five.
The family's mother Crystal says her family is overwhelmed and the kids are extremely thankful.
"They've never got to live in their own home. We've always rented. This is different. We walk in and this is ours. This is our home. The feeling is just overwhelming," she said.
The property holds a special tie for Crystal. It's the same land she grew up on as a child. Now she says she's happy to be back close to family.
