A Knoxville man was killed in a motorcycle crash Tuesday morning in North Knox County.

According to the Knox County Sheriff's Office, Wally Glenn Kitts, 47, was riding a Harley Davidson on Gray Road when the accident happened around 11:30 am.

Investigators said it appears Kitts miscalculated a curve, locked up his brakes, and slid into a guard rail.

Kitts was thrown from the motorcycle and was killed. He was wearing a helmet, but not an approved one. He died on the scene.
