Sorry, 'N Sync swooners: After last night's 90 seconds of hype, the band is going bye bye bye.
Despite their VMA victory, the boys don't have any plans to take their act (back) on the road, J.C. Chasez told Ryan Seacrest today.
"No," he said. "It was just about five guys who were great friends who spent 10 or 15 years together touring and we ... wanted to give that back to our fans, but we were there mainly to support Justin."
In fact, the mini-reunion was Timberlake's idea, Chasez said. "Justin gave me a buzz and he said, 'Hey man, listen. I'm getting this award and they have given me a pile of time to perform and we started our careers at MTV and I think we should get the band back together.' "
The moment was "really was about him and all that he's accomplished, but he wanted to acknowledge that part of his career so we all decided to do it."
And even if the lyrics came easily, it seems those signature 'N Sync steps are like a foreign language: You don't use it, you lose it. When it came to practicing their moves from 11 years ago, "everyone was going, 'Can we go through this one more time slowly?' ... So that part was pretty funny."
