A power problem is causing the early dismissal of Farragut Intermediate and Middle Schools Monday.

(WBIR- Farragut) Knox County Schools announced Monday that a power problem is forcing the early dismissal of both Farragut Middle and Farragut Intermediate Schools Monday.

According to a press release, Farragut Middle School classes are dismissing at 10:30 a.m.

Farragut Intermediate School is dismissing at 11:15 a.m.

Buses will begin running at those times.

The school system is encouraging parents to pick students up at any time.

According to Shannon Littleton, GM for Lenoir City Utilities Board, the problem is in a primary line that feeds the school. The cable is buried, so they are having to dig it up to either repair or replace it.

They say the problem should be fixed today, so it shouldn't interfere with school tomorrow.
