For those of you who never thought you'd hear the name of boy band One Direction and the words "Mideast conflict" in the same sentence, this webisode of Punchlines will surprise you. And for those of you who are used to hearing about how cease-fires between Israel and Palestine are ruined, unfortunately this webisode of Punchlines won't surprise you.
Believe it or not, according to one comedian, the once-popular band One Direction made a statement about the conflict between Israel and Palestine (why is a mystery). But when it comes to this conflict, as the comic points out, the band doesn't follow the directive implied by its name. Another comedian was happy last week about the three-day cease-fire announced Thursday between Israel and Palestine. However, during his enthusiastic discussion of the plan, he pointed out one of the main problems with lasting peace in the region (it turns out the cease-fire ended the same day it started). After all, he said, the U.S. can't be Israel's rehab sponsor and its drug dealer at the same time. And watch as one comic attempts to report on the conflict without using any "trigger words" — a nearly impossible task.
