The Vols practiced for approximately two hours on a very hot, very sunny late-summer afternoon in East Tennessee.
1. NO DARR. Second-year Vols coach Butch Jones said fifth-year senior Matt Darr was "fine" despite a nasty left ankle turn in Sunday's season-opening win over Utah State, but Darr wasn't on Haslam Field with the rest of the punters on Tuesday. A trio of walk-ons — freshman Troy Waites, redshirt freshmanTrevor Daniel and third-year sophomore Ryan Ault — handled the punting work during early portions of Tuesday's practice.
